Debora Hulskamp

Singer, songwriter, pianist

For the 'Dutch Writers Camp’ I added three songs each in a different style.
Tools: just Logic Express 8 and my MacBook.

1. Colibri is a very American Songbook-like song. Nice jazzy summer love-song.

2. Maak Me Vrij (Release Me) is one of the songs I'm writing at this moment for a Dutch Rock singer, his album is yet to be released. I wrote these lyrics in Dutch. It has some Rolling Stones-like guitar sounds in it and a cool horn section.

3. Can’t Run, Can’t Hide is a modern pop song. At first I recorded this song just with vocals and piano. That's what I actually do with all my songs. In my opinion, you can hear if a song is good when you can sing it live accompanied with just one guitar or piano.

Biography

After six years of classical piano training Debora went to studie, vocals, at the 'Hilversums Conservatorium'. She developed her singing and writing skills thanks to the co-operation with all kinds of musicians, both live performences and studio gigs, in different styles of music such as jazz, pop, rock, soul, R & B and musical. She has performed internationally and has developed an entertaining stage personality.
