Biography

Hello. My name is Garritz. That's my stage-name. I also use this name when I

record an album under direct management. My real name is Theo Gerrits, Dutch,

born (04-05-1955) and grown up in Langenboom (village in Holland)

My motivation for music is undiminished. I think music is a spiritual thing,

like Paul McCartney once said: "It's from above".

For me the music itself is important, more than the other things. I admire Neil

Young for this: No fuss, play and sing your music. The music has to speak for

itself.

When I was fourteen, my brother Erik learned me how to play the guitar.

In those days I liked the Beatles, the Beach Boys and the Hollies. Later on

I discovered the music of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan and Neil Young.

And finally Queen. I think there is some influence of all those musicians in my

music.

The music I play(ed): All kind of everything, different types of music:

Country-folk, unplugged folk, sympho-rock, rock, blues-rock, gospel.

I recorded two solo-albums with all own compositions and lyrics and one

live-album (also own stuff).

And I'm now recording new songs for a new album.
