Biography

Born in 1969 Roeland Ruijsch van Dugteren was able to absorb a lot of musical styles
during the first period of his life. From Glenn Miller to the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Madonna, Prince and many other inspiring artists had a profound inspiration on his musical expression.
Interested in music from his childhood he was raised in a very creative musical family,
which inspired and supported him with the tools for his musical ambition.
Starting on electric guitar at an early age, it was clear to him that from day one he picked up this instrument, music had to become his way of life.
After studying at the conservatory in Maastricht for several years and playing in many bands with different styles of music, he decided to master the art of composing and producing by studying at the Faculty of Art, Media & Technology at the Utrecht School for the Arts.
By viewing music as a profession he took on all kinds of musical jobs that supported him in daily expenses as inspiration. Therefore he composed music for modern dance, worked as a session player, taught guitar, produced many demo’s, played in a 60’ies cover band, played guitar in the hit musical “Mamma Mia” as many other ambitious acts. He made the first demo-recordings with the famous Dutch singer 'Stevie Ann’.
In 2007 he wrote and produced 14 songs for the debut album for the Dutch singer “Joyze- The Unpredictable Me” from which the single “Impossible” reached a top 20 position in the Dutch top 100 chart. In the same year the Dutch rockband 'Sat2D' recorded a song from Roeland and their leadsinger Kelly Kockelkoren, which was released as a single during their 'Pinkpop' gig.
At the moment he is writing and producing with future promising artists with different musical styles.
